The first session of the 14th committee of the CPPCC in Shanghai Xuhui District was held from Jan. 7th 2017 to Jan. 10th 2017.  Mr. Alan Young was reelected and reappointed as one of the committe. He attended the conference  to debrief the reports and discuss with other conferees.

LeoLab, an incubator affiliated with Leo Band & Co., which at the beginning of 2016, was nominated by local government and after a series of procedures of verification, has been approved of the first batch of maker spaces in Shanghai.

On October 3rd, 2016, the fifty-sixth WIPO General Assembly was held in Geneva, Switzerland. Mr. Francis Gurry, the Director General of WIPO, reported the organization’s outstanding achievements of the last year in IP and finance.
As one of the WIPO’s permanent observers, IIPCC representatives attended the meeting, reviewed the improvements IIPCC has obtained and took part in the discussion about future policy trends.

Mr. Mark Lanning, the Director of Immigration of Withers, visited LEO BAND &CO.  Mr. Lanning discussed with our Mr. Alan Young, Ms. Freya Sheng, Mr. Jeff Young about potential future cooperation in work regarding investment, immigration, intellectual property protection and other services. In the end, this meeting served as a basis for promising cooperation in the future.

Ms.Freya Sheng, Executive Director of LEO BAND ＆ CO. , went to visit the expert, Nancy Yamaguchi, who is an expert in the Withers Law Firm, specialized in technology venture. The issues in protection, management, operation and service of intellectual property were discussed between the parties, together with the progress and problems in the trend of the intellectual property commercialized usages in South Asia and Europe. During the time, Silicon Valley was also in the list of the visiting.
